The actor Adam Mondschein has spoken out after being named in Blake Lively's lawsuit against the director and co-star of 'Just this Once', Justin Baldoni. Lively claims that Baldoni cast Mondschein, his 'best friend', for the role of a gynecologist in a birth scene and called the choice 'invasive and humiliating' because he got so close to her body during filming. In a statement to Page Six, Mondschein said he was 'surprised' by Lively's portrayal and denied her version of events. He claimed that she was not 'almost naked' as alleged in the lawsuit, but instead wore a full hospital gown, black shorts, and a pregnancy prosthesis. 'If I am asked to testify in this case, I will truthfully and, above all, freely answer whatever is required of me, with all the legal protection I enjoy. In particular, by stating that Ms. Lively was not 'almost naked' in the scene we shot together,' Mondschein said. Mondschein also rejected Lively's suggestion to hire a local actor, as he was based in New York and had paid his own travel expenses. He described Lively's comments on his qualifications as 'insulting' and claimed that his qualifications were easy to verify. In her lawsuit, Lively accuses Baldoni of sexual harassment and attempting to damage her reputation after the film's release. Baldoni has countersued Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds and is suing the New York Times for $250 million (225 million €) over their coverage of the case. The trial is set to begin on March 9, 2026.
