Frigate Hessen repels first Huthi attack

A few days after the start of its mission in the Red Sea, the frigate Hessen shot down two drones on Wednesday night. This was confirmed by the German Armed Forces Operations Command. The Hessen left its home port of Wilhelmshaven three weeks ago to take part in the EU mission "Aspides". It is intended to protect merchant ships on their route through the Red Sea from attacks by the Yemeni Huthi militia. The frigate used live weapons for the first time as part of the mission during the night.
